Herbs and roots

Herbs and roots, sticks and stones - the community of magick

There’s a world of the otherworldly and spaces in between the worldly and the otherworldly.
The world of roots and herbs all emblems the spiritualist/seeker finds magnanimity in.
To involve them in spellwork is about surrendering to spirit. Spirit and spiritual prowess pulsates through the roots and herbs. And yes the roots and herbs need invocation too, much like how you charge your crystals.
While hoodoo is a closed spiritual practice, its branches of rootwork however teaches us the importance of  ‘going all in’ - ‘go big or go home’ .
Let me explain- when you hold for example a mandrake root in your palm.. you can either define it to be just a root - the remnant of a plant or … you can envision its vastness just by its magick of existence and existence of magick.
From ever ancient times.. plants have been the elixir of medicine, the elixir of magick and change. To work with roots herbs soil sticks .. is the process of becoming one with their entire being.
So one fine morning when you find yourself humming a song and burning some rosemary and mugwort together- it can either mean that your intuitive world of spirit within you has called you to do so.. or it may mean you are yearning for a particular shift in your energetic realm.
Herbs and roots because of their primordial properties of ancestral wisdom, wisdom of the earth land seas and skies- holds within it the power of alchemy.
Life being a whole myriad of information and the unstoppable flow of downloads.. the roots and herbs play a very important role in rooting those informations to our grounded realities.
You will find us the spiritualists sometimes burning lavender and mullein leaves and chanting songs to our spirit altars requesting the spirit world to accept the incense smoke as offerings, this is about gratitude- about
‘Soil to smoke.. smoke to air.. air to wisdom and blessings’
The sacred spiral of every energetic ether becoming whole again- only to be worshipped through invocation and offerings.
This sacred method is about honouring the emblems of nature, the whole spectrum of nature- its blessings, its banal beings all creating a world of spirit altogether.
The mandrake can curse.. but the mandrake also heals.
The peppermint leaves are cleansing and also encourages financial flow!
Its all about how one is co creating with the emblems of alchemy.
This co creation and the wisdom deep seated within.. depends on the seeker’s life experiences too, the beauty of trial and error, portals opening and closing, releasing what doesn’t serve to allow spirit to welcome the new.
The world of roots and herbs and spirit within tells us to seek with ease and simplicity.
Its all connected. The grounding of the roots .. to the very action of lighting a candle in the name of its spiritual prowess, to establishing a nuanced method through it all.. every process is connected with the other, because the prime tool is us- the seekers.
The seeker seeks to invoke the power of the root , that act itself is deliverance and surrender- the question and the answer.
To start with yourself as the tool.. keep some mugwort + basil + lemongrass and rose petals on a plate in front of you, then light a white candle in the middle of it all.
And chant your prayers for each herb.
Make your own words.
Then make this a daily practice every morning.
Carry this feeling of alchemy with you for the rest of the day.
Have a beautiful journey!

And the fire with’out’
